DETACHMENT 632

AFOSI Det 632 is a tenant unit on Eielson AFB and reports directly to the 6th Field Investigations Region based at HQ PACAF at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. AFOSI has been the Air Force's major investigative service since Aug.1, 1948 and reports directly to the Inspector General, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force. Primarily, members of Detachment 632 perform as a federal law enforcement agents, with responsibility for conducting counterintelligence activities, force protection, and major criminal investigations for commanders of all Air Force activities.

Det 632 is responsible for Eielson AFB, Clear AFS, and all other Air Force concerns in interior and northern Alaska. The det investigates a wide variety of serious offenses - espionage, terrorism, crimes against property, violence against people, larceny, computer hacking, acquisition and contract fraud, drug use and distribution, financial misdeeds, military desertion, corruption of the contracting process, and any other illegal activity that undermines the mission of the U.S. Air Force or the Department of Defense.
