Two types of engineering and technical services:
Air Force Engineering and Technical Services (AFETS) and Contract Engineering and Technical Services (CETS) provide cost effective, efficient support of combat Air Force systems and equipment. Both provide direct assistance to the USAF field units worldwide in meeting mission and operational requirements.
Air Force Engineering and Technical Services consists of highly qualified GS-11/12 Air Force civilians with an average 25 years experience who provide technical assistance/advice, training & liaison with depot, contractors & ACC functional managers in operation and maintenance of equipment and systems assigned to combat units worldwide.

Contractor Engineering and Technical Services consists of civilian contractor representatives providing technical assistance and training to DoD personnel. They also provide liaison with their company on new and/or modified systems in order to assist units in reaching self-sufficiency.
