1/16/2013 - EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Exercise activities resulted in a false alarm of gunshots on base at approximately 2:30 p.m.
The base was on lockdown following an inaccurate report of an active shooter. The scene was then secured by 354th Fighter Wing emergency responders and it was determined to be a false alarm as a result of week-long exercise activities with no actual threat to the base.
Normal base operations have resumed.
