11/1/2013 - EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska  -- Eielson Air Force Base was put on lockdown due to a reported active shooter at the 168th Air Refueling Wing facility compound at approximately 11:30 a.m. First responders arrived on scene and determined the situation to be a false alarm due to the testing of a public address system. The system's notification capabilities were being tested to warn base personnel in the event of emergencies.

The nature of the false alarm is under investigation.
