Col. Gregory E. Hutson is the commander of the 354th Maintenance Group, 354th Fighter Wing, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. The 354th Maintenance Group provides aircraft and munitions maintenance support to the 354th Fighter Wing's F-16 aggressor aircraft as well as RED FLAG-Alaska, Pacific Air Forces' premier national and multinational large-force training exercise. Aircraft maintenance in Alaskan temperatures ranging from 90 degrees in the summer to negative 50 in the winter can be demanding, but no matter what conditions prevail in this beautiful land of extremes the men and women of the maintenance group "keep 'em flying."
Col. Hutson enlisted in the Air Force in 1986 as a personnel specialist, and was commissioned through AFROTC's Airmen Scholarship and Commissioning Program in 1995. He has held assignments in fighter aircraft maintenance as well as space and aircraft acquisition. He commanded the 8th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, and was the deputy group commander of the 1st Maintenance Group. Most recently, he was the maintenance support lead for three U.S. services and eight international partners at the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office.
