Legal service is available to active duty, retirees and their families; members of the Guard (Title 10 status only); and Reserve members on active duty orders.

Legal assistance attorneys cannot represent you in court. Legal assistance is prohibited in the following areas:

  • Issues involving personal commercial enterprises
  • Criminal issues under the Uniform Code of Military Justice or state/federal criminal law (contact the Area Defense Counsel at (907) 377-2257 or DSN 377-2257 for assistance).
  • Standards of Conduct issues
  • Law of Armed Conflict issues
  • Official matters in which the U.S. Air Force has an interest or is involved in the final outcome
  • Representation of the client in a court or administrative proceeding

Personal Injury or Property Claims (Non-TMO related)

Claims against the US Air Force, pursuant to the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) or Military Claims Act (MCA), must be filed using the SF 95 (see "Claims" Panel on the right side of this page), and must include all relevant documentation including, but not limited to: proof of ownership, police report (if applicable), and proof of repair/replacement estimate.  Claims may be submitted via email to 354fw.ja.354fwjudgeadvocate@us.af.mil, or via mail to:

TMO/PCS Related Property Claims
The DD Form 1840/1840R must be submitted to the carrier within 70 days after delivery of a household goods shipment. This process can now be done online at https://claims.jag.af.mil or through the DPS move https://dps.move.mil/cust/standard/user/home.xhtml. The online process only applies to Air Force sponsored moves. Members having trouble filing online may contact the claims office Mon-Fri, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Questions regarding the process may be addressed to the Air Force Claims Service Center at 1-877-754-1212.

Eielson Sexual Assualt and Prevention & Response Office

AREA DEFENSE COUNSEL, EIELSON AFB

The Office of the Area Defense Counsel (ADC) is comprised of select attorneys and paralegals whose sole focus is to advise and advocate for individual Airmen through military justice and administrative processes. The ADC's office at Eielson AFB can be contacted by calling (907) 377-2257.
