18th Fighter Generation Squadron

The 354th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was inactivated, and the 18th Fighter Generation Squadron was activated in its place on February 2, 2024. This change aligns the 18th Fighter Interceptor Squadron capabilities with a supporting maintenance squadron to organize, train, and equip for their primary combat mission of providing aerospace control for homeland defense missions in the Alaska Theater of Operations. The 18th FGS provides mission ready maintainers and mission ready aircraft to support the wing's flying mission. The squadron is responsible for all aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul, sortie production and weapons loading for the wing's aircraft.

355th & 356th Fighter Generation Squadrons

Activated on May 24, 2023, the 355th Fighter Generation Squadron and 356th FGS are responsible for maintaining the readiness and operational effectiveness of the base’s F-35A Lightning II aircraft. Dedicated to providing rapid, high-quality maintenance and support, the squadrons ensure these advanced fifth-generation fighters are always prepared for training, deployment, and combat. With a focus on safety, teamwork, and precision, the 355th FGS and 356th FGS are crucial in maintaining air superiority and supporting national defense in the Arctic region and beyond.

354th Maintenance Squadron

The 354th Maintenance Squadron provides heavy aircraft maintenance and munitions support for the Wing's aircraft. In addition, the squadron provides support to Cope Thunder, transient, and special mission aircraft operating at Eielson AFB. In this squadron are the command staff, avionics, propulsion, accessories maintenance, armament, fabrication, aerospace ground equipment, tactical aircraft maintenance, munitions maintenance and support personnel who are also tasked to deploy and support aerospace power anytime and anywhere.
