Innovative system revolutionizes Northern Edge 2015 battlespace, maximizes training capability

EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska - Live, virtual and constructive (LVC) participants from various U.S. military branches are tracked by the 353rd Combat Training Squadron as assets move into place in preparation for an Exercise Northern Edge scenario June 25, 2015. The LVC system enables live participants like this U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon deployed to Alaska to directly engage and interact with virtual aviators operating from home station simulators, and constructive computer-generated forces to provide more robust training scenarios. Northern Edge 2015 is Alaska's premier joint training exercise designed to practice operations, tactics, techniques and procedures as well as enhance interoperability among thousands of Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen from active-duty, Reserve and National Guard units.
