Tour Requests

Base tours are offered to local civic organizations, schools, and youth groups to educate the community about the U.S. Air Force, 354th Fighter Wing, and Eielson Air Force Base missions. Tours are tailored to coincide with the interests of different demographics while not compromising mission requirements.

Tours are free of charge and can be subject to last-minute cancellations due to mission needs and resource availability. As soon as the mission allows, we will attempt to reschedule any tour cancelled for mission-related or weather-related reasons.

Entry Requirements:

A background check must be completed for all guests 16 and older. Each guest’s (regardless of age) full name and date of birth must be provided. Additionally, the driver license or state ID number for all those who are 16 years old or older must be included.

Policy:

Public tours are available to groups of 20 to 40 people. Only one tour per organization/school per calendar year.

Information requested by Public Affairs must be returned no later than 21 days prior to the confirmed tour date to ensure time for proper coordination. Failure to meet this requirement can result in cancellation.

Cameras are allowed on the tour. However, there may be some restrictions. Your tour guide will have details.

If a group is more than 15 minutes late for their tour, it will be cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

EIELSON AFB RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL A SCHEDULED TOUR AT ANY TIME DUE TO MISSION REQUIREMENTS.

Requesting a tour:

Tour requests must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the date of the tour. Requests must be submitted through the 354th Fighter Wing Public Affairs office using the 354th Fighter Wing Community Support Request Form and are accepted up to 90 days in advance. Tours are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Sending and receiving a request does not confirm your requested tour date.

Transportation:

Groups are responsible for transportation large enough to carry their entire group, unless otherwise coordinated with the Public Affairs office. All buses/vans must arrive at the Hursey Gate for security processing.

Please confirm vehicle information and estimated arrival time with our office before arriving. Buses will be met at the gate by a member from the Public Affairs office, who will accompany the group onboard the bus and will remain with them for the duration of the tour.

Any organization, group or individual can request an Air Force speaker. This includes community groups, business organizations, industry associations, as well as schools at all levels. We are RESTRICTED from participating in any fundraising events and political activities.

Public Affairs must receive a complete 354th Fighter Wing Community Support Request Form at least two weeks prior to the requested event. If Public Affairs hasn't confirmed receiving your request within a week of submission, please follow up by phone, (907) 377-2116. Sending/receiving a request does not confirm a speaker to your event.

The mission of the Eielson Honor Guard is to represent the Air Force in ceremonial functions in Alaska. They render military honors for Air Force personnel and their family members during funeral services and serve at Change of Command and retirement ceremonies. Another function of the Honor Guard is to provide their services for opening ceremonies for appropriate events attended by the general public.

Guidelines 

• Provide at least 30 day's notice. 
• Please remember that the honor guard's primary function is to support funerals. Though rare, your request could be cancelled. 
• Requests are balanced against several factors - does it support the Air Force, does it project the proper image, is it open to the public, how many people will attend. 
• We may ask the requestor to cover some of the cost associated with the event. If the visit is overnight or involves travel outside of the local area, we may ask you to pay for travel and accommodations. If a meal fee, entry fee or parking fee is required, we also expect the requestor to cover this. In most cases however, there is no cost to the requesting group. 

Airshow flyovers and/or static display requests for our F-16 Fighting Falcon or F-35 Lightning II requires as much advanced notice as possible, due to mission operations and aircraft/aircrew availability. Please send all information pertaining to the airshow or static display including:

• Your SAF/PA Aerial Events authorization #
• Who
• What
• When
• Where
• Why
• Contact Info (email and phone)
• Any other important/relevant information for your request.
