U.S. Army Reserve soldiers from the 222nd Broadcast Operations Detachment out of Bell, Calif., participating in the HMMWV Egress Assistance Trainer (HEAT) course at Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, Calif., on July 8, 2023. It can simulate rollover scenarios and disorienting rotations in a modified HVMMWV body. HEAT is crucial in mitigating risks and enhancing soldier safety by equipping them with the skills and training to successfully navigate and evacuate from an HMMWV in emergencies.
