An AV-8B Harrier, attached to 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, takes off from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) to conduct strike missions against Daesh targets in Sirte, Libya in support of the GNA aligned forces Aug. 1, 2016. Wasp is deployed with the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
