U.S. Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command deployed June 1, 2017, to conduct security cooperation training and engineering projects with their counterparts in several Central American and Caribbean nations. The Marines are preparing to redeploy to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, after successfully completing seven engineering projects across three countries and providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts to nations in the Caribbean Sea impacted by hurricanes Irma and Maria.
