Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) host Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) partners Aerospace and Lockheed Martin at the Los Angeles Air Force Base for the “Thermal Space Blanket” signing ceremony. The “thermal space blanket” signing ceremony is a tradition celebrating the people and partnership that built the satellite. The thermal blanket will go into orbit with the fifth AEHF satellite and protect sensitive components inside the AEHF-5 satellite from extreme temperature changes during its life-span around Earth’s orbit.
