Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?

I come from a family where some of my relatives have served in the military. I wanted to serve my country and I get some of the benefits, such as school travel and having a career.

What moment or accomplishment as a member of the Icemen Team are you most proud of and why?

I’m proud that I was chosen to be our commander’s secretary as an airman first class. I stood out to my leadership enough to be put in that position when they had everyone else in the squadron to choose from.

What is your Favorite part of your job?

I originally wanted to be in medical, but I had this job on my list. I’m happy with my job; I get to learn new things every day.

Who inspires you and why?

My sister inspires me. She took me in when I was 15 years old and finished raising me while going to school and raising her children. She didn’t have to do it, but she chose to do it anyway. She’ll graduate in May to become a nurse and she’s my role model because she was able to push through everything and still get a degree.

What’s your Favorite part about being in Alaska?

I love Alaska because it’s a beautiful place and there’s a lot of opportunity to take amazing photos. Sometimes when I’m driving down the road I wish I had my camera because I’ll see something that would make a great photo.
