Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?

I was always an introverted and shy kid growing up; for me, being in the Air Force and doing this job is a daily reminder that I can push myself out of my comfort zone.

What moment or accomplishment as a member of the Icemen Team are you most proud of and why?

One of my proudest accomplishments was scoring a 91 on my end of course test for my career development course. I was very nervous about taking the test, but ended up scoring higher than I thought I could.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Troubleshooting an engine that is having an issue is my favorite part of my job. Using sensor readings and knowing how parts work together to diagnose an engine problem is the most fun.

Who inspires you and why?

My biggest inspiration was my friend Ken. He always supported me and pushed me to become better.

What’s your favorite part about being in Alaska?

I grew up in and around big cities, so it is a nice change of pace to be far from that. It’s sort of calming.
