EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- The Hursey Gate is scheduled to reopen at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020. The temporary access gate will close and all non-commercial traffic will utilize the Hursey Gate for normal operations.
Contactless ID checks will be enforced, to include the scanning of all cards and visitor passes while keeping vehicle windows up. IDs and passes should be ready to scan prior to approaching the gate to ensure steady traffic flow and alleviating vehicle back up. When approaching the gate, individuals will press their ID or Pass against the window with barcode facing out for scanning. After scanning, those with ID or DBIDS cards will need to show the front of the card for information and photo verification.
Starting Oct. 15, all commercial operations at the South Gate will end and revert back to the Hursey Gate as well.
Speed will be strictly enforced as the installation moves toward normal operations and prepares for the first snowfall.
