EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- The 2022 Air Force Assistance Fund campaign to raise funds for charities that will support Airmen and families in need begins March 21 and runs through April 29, 2022, at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.
The AFAF raises money through four different charities and is a completely volunteer based campaign. Their goal is to minimize all operating costs and to donate all funds received. This charity is for Airmen and Guardians, by Airmen and Guardians.
Since its establishment in 2005, the campaign has raised millions of dollars for day to day living expenses, disaster relief, transportation needs and so much more.
Team Eielson will have the opportunity to contribute to this year’s campaign through e-Giving on the Eielson AFB website.
“It’s a real honor and privilege to be able to help us push out information regarding this year’s AFAF campaign. It’s a great way for us to give back to our fellow Airmen and Guardians and their families who are in need. We have a lot of individuals on this base, in this wing who have actually benefited from this charity program and have gotten help when they most needed it. I encourage everyone to spread the word. ” said Col. David Berkland, 354th Fighter Wing commander.
With the world entering the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic, AFAF is more important now than ever before and is a great way for Airmen to have the opportunity to help other Airmen out.
“It’s the one charity out there that is 100% focused on Airmen, and your contributions will directly impact a fellow Airman and their family. Please join me in taking care of our own,” said Maj. Joshua Hammervold, the AFAF project officer.
