Air Force officials announced proposed force structure changes which support the new DoD strategic guidance retiring 286 aircraft over the next five years, including 227 in fiscal year 13.

The announcement specifies the force structure changes experienced by the Total Force, and includes Fiscal Year 2013 plans to transfer Active Component F-16 Aggressors from Eielson Air Force Base to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

At this time we have no information as to how this may affect Eielson and its personnel.

The 168th Air National Guard Refueling Wing on Eielson, which flies KC-135 refueling aircraft, is not part of the proposed force structure changes.
