Businesses from Eielson, Fort Wainwright, North Pole, Fairbanks and even as far as Wasilla set up shop at the Aurora Events Center Nov. 12 to participate in the Eielson Enlisted Spouses Club's Holiday Bazaar.

At the bazaar attendees were able to indulge in food and shopping. Many vendors had specialized items that could not be found anywhere else.

"The bazaar is a great way for us not only to earn money that will go back into the base and community," said Aleisa McClure, Eielson Enlisted Spouses Club president. "It's also a way to let our vendors get their names out there and help them in their businesses and to let the shoppers see what there is to offer in our area."

The bazaar offers the perfect venue to bring these businesses together in one convenient location.

According to McClure, it was the hope of the EESC that every attendee would be able to find something they like with the variety of vendors present at this one-stop shopping event. The bazaar plays a large role in exposing new and returning families to businesses in the area.

"This bazaar like many others takes uncountable hours of planning. We have an amazing group of spouses here at Eielson that spend hours upon hours to put this event together and make sure everything is taken care of," said McClure.

With more than 40 vendors the Aurora Club was filled with people browsing and buying. The new venue provided more space for the vendors and the customers.

Profits made by the EESC will go back into the base and local community through charitable contributions including scholarships and Airman Leadership School ice breakers.
