Eielson continues deployments for Operation TOMODACHI Published March 22, 2011 By Staff Reports EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, ALASKA -- The 354th Fighter Wing continues to deploy Airmen in support of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts in Japan. Airmen from the 354th Civil Engineer, Force Support, and Logistics Readiness Squadrons have received deployment orders. Currently, 39 Eielson personnel are on temporary assignment to Japan. On Monday, six additional deployment tasks were received at the installation deployment office, raising the total to 45 personnel deployed or awaiting transportation to Japan. U.S. Pacific Command, in conjunction with U.S. Forces in Japan, continues to assess available assets and respond as quickly as possible to meet the requirements requested by the Japanese government. Eielson remains mission ready and capable to further assist as needed.
