The 354th Force Support Squadron hosted their annual fall festival and fireworks show Oct. 29 at the Yukon Club here.

The festival started off a busy weekend, which included a Halloween party later that night at the club and Trick or Treating at the Community Center. The weekend wrapped up with Operation Warm Garage where Icemen 56 treated trick-or-treaters with candy and hot chocolate.

The fall festival included various activities from around base such as carnival games from the youth center, a coloring activity from the fitness center, pumpkin decorating from the community center and the commissary, and face painting from the 354th FSS Human Resources office. Giveaways included an iPad, bowling at Arctic Lanes and more.

"I think it went really well, we had a lot of happy kids and a lot of happy parents," said Leigh Tulloss, 354th FSS Marketing Director. "We gave away a lot of prizes."

Approximately 550 people attended the event, 150 more than last year, according to Mrs. Tulloss. More than 50 volunteers helped set up and support to provide a fun family atmosphere.

"I like the festival. The food is good and the games are fun, with my family," said 11-year-old Gregory del Valle, son of Senior Master Sgt. Alexander de Valle, 354th Operations Group superintendent.

"It's great to see families out because it's really good for the community to come together. It's real nice to spend this time and see fireworks. It's great for family entertainment," added Caroline del Valle.

Anyone who missed out can still enjoy upcoming events FSS plans to put on, include the Winter Grand Opening Nov. 19 and the Family Holiday Celebration Dec. 22 followed by a party for adults at the Aurora Club. More information will be released closer to event dates.
