Through our travels with the military, many of us have developed lasting friendships with people from other countries. Some have married spouses from outside the United States and have in-laws who are not citizens.

With the growing concern for foreign intelligence gathering and the threat of terrorism, the United States military must be cautious of whom it allows onto installations. To help ensure the safety of Eielson residents, the visitor policy was recently updated as it applies to foreign national visitors.

In an effort to ease the delay in getting a base pass for visiting friends and relatives, the 354th Security Forces Squadron would like to provide some guidance on the foreign national visitor policy. When expecting a guest from outside the United States, a Foreign National Sponsorship Worksheet must be completed a minimum of 14 days prior to the arrival of your guest.

Foreign National Sponsorship Worksheets are available Monday through Friday at the visitor center or by calling the 354th SFS Installation Security section at 377-5224.

When sponsoring a foreign national visitor onto the base, the sponsor is responsible for completing the worksheet and routing it through the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and to the 354th Mission Support Group Commander for final approval.

Once approved, the sponsor must provide a signed copy of the Foreign National Sponsorship Worksheet to the visitor center to receive a visitor's pass for their guest.

For questions pertaining to the base visitor policy contact the Eielson AFB Visitor Center at 377-1033 or 377-3807 or the 354th SFS Installation Security section at 377-5224.
