Eielson conducts training 2-4 August Published Aug. 2, 2010 By compiled staff reports 354th fighter wing public affairs EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- As part of ongoing DISTANT FRONTIER operations, members of the 25th Air Support Operations Squadron, 13th Fighter Squadron and 354th Security Forces Squadron will be participating in a training exercise today through 4 August on Eielson AFB, AK. As part of this exercise, there will be increased movement on and around the base, specifically in the area near the contingency dormitories and RED FLAG operations. For the three days, a three to four vehicle convoy consisting of HUMVEEs, Blue Government Owned Vehicles, and civilian vehicles will meet outside of the contingency dormitories near the RED FLAG building (Bldg 1151). The convoy will proceed from the contingency dorms by RED FLAG operations (Bldg 1151) to the east side of base and 'seize' the Survival, Evasion, Resistance, & Escape storage facility located approximately four miles to the east, and will then return to the start point. On Tuesday, exercise participants may be seen using smoke and simulated weapons for this operation. In order to avoid extraneous calls to "Eagle Eyes" and the security forces, it is imperative base personnel are aware of the composition of the convoy and the operations they will conduct.
