Article 15 punishments imposed in July through September Published Oct. 26, 2009 By compiled staff reports 354th Fighter Wing Legal Office EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- The following are Uniform Code of Military Justice actions taken against members of the Eielson Air Force Base community: An airman first class from 354th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, endangered the welfare of his two children, both under the age of 16, by having feces and garbage on the floors, walls, and stairs of his base housing residence. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman basic, restriction to base for 30 days, 30 days extra duty, and was directed to clean his house. An airman first class from 354th AMXS, drank alcohol while under the legal age of 21. The airman received a suspended reduction to airman, a suspended forfeiture of $784.00 pay for two months, restriction to base for 30 days, 30 days extra duty, and was enrolled in the ADAPT program. An airman from 354th Medical Operations Squadron, showed up an hour and a half late for duty. The airman received a suspended reduction to airman basic, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand. A few days later, this same airman failed to show up for his extra duty punishment and slept while on duty. He subsequently received a Vacation Action from his commander. The airman received a reduction to airman basic. An airman first class from 354th Maintenance Squadron, unlawfully entered the Arctic Survival Training Area. The airman first class was camping with his family for the weekend. The airman drove down a trail into the Arctic Survival Training Area with signs that said, "Arctic Survival Fire Wood Do Not Take", and "Do Not Enter" posted. Ignoring, these signs he drove down a hill, got his vehicle stuck, and then sought the help of the SFS to remove his vehicle. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman, suspended forfeiture of $250.00 pay for two months, and a reprimand. A staff sergeant from 354th Communication Squadron, failed to go to a mandatory appointment at the HAWC, failed to turn in validated Air Force Form 1975's, and failed to schedule monthly fitness improvement appointments. This staff sergeant has had problems complying with physical fitness standards and compounded the situation by not following the fitness program given to him. The staff sergeant received a reduction to senior airman. An airman first class from 354th MXS, drank alcohol while under the legal age of 21. The airman first class received a reduction to airman. Due to the airman's record of previous misconduct he was subsequently discharged from the Air Force. This discharge was done only after many attempts to correct the airman's behavior through various rehabilitative tools. An airman first class from 354th Medical Operations Squadron, used her Government Travel Card for unauthorized purchases. The airman used her GTC for daily living expenses and paid it off each month. However, paying off the card does not make up for the wrongful use, so the airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman and a reprimand. An airman first class from 354th Security Forces Squadron, failed to stay alert, failed to refrain from engaging in horseplay, and failed to ensure the safety of others. The airman first class lit hand sanitizer on fire, and melted the door of his GOV. The damage to the vehicle was $1,250.00. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman basic, forfeiture of $699.00 pay per month for two months, restriction to base for 10 days, 10 days extra duty, and a reprimand. Additionally, a report of survey was initiated against him for the cost of damages to the vehicle. An airman from 354th MXS, drove a vehicle while on a suspended license, after having it revoked for a previous DUI. The airman received a reduction to airman basic. Due to the airman's record of previous misconduct he was subsequently discharged from the Air Force. Again, this discharge was done only after many attempts to correct the airman's behavior through various rehabilitative tools. A master sergeant from 354th AMXS, used his Government Travel Card for unauthorized purchases. The master sergeant believed he could use his GTC as a tool to manage his debt. The master sergeant received a suspended reduction to technical sergeant, a suspended forfeiture of $1,684.00 pay per month for two months, 45 days extra duty, and will have the Article 15 placed in his senior noncommissioned officer selection record. An airman from 354th Logistics Readiness Squadron, drank alcohol while under the legal age of 21 and drank while on weekend stand-by. This airman received a suspended reduction to airman and forfeiture of $784.00 pay per month for two months. PLEASE REMEMBER, you are responsible for your own actions -- no one else. Consequently, think before you act! REMEMBER a saying from our third president, Thomas Jefferson: "When angry, count ten before you speak; if very angry, an hundred."
