With the onset of fall Icemen can all start looking forward to the festivities associated with the season. Every member of the 354th Security Forces Squadron would like to be the first to extend the seasons' greetings. With Halloween approaching rapidly, security forces Airmen would like to take a moment and remind everyone of a couple basic items concerning the festivities often associated with All Hallows Eve.

First and foremost, those who will be participating in the age old tradition of trick-or-treating need to be as safe as possible. Please ensure that you and your trick-or-treaters are dressed appropriately for the weather. It is highly advised that trick-or-treaters wear bright or reflective clothing to make them more visible to traffic present within the housing areas. Please remember to trick-or-treat with a parent and/or friends. Also ensure to remain aware of any wild animals that may be present within the housing areas. Everyone who is driving during trick-or-treat hours must take into careful consideration a larger than average pedestrian presence and children who may dart into your path.

There is another another issue commonly associated with Halloween. Each community, and Eielson is not immune, sees its fair share of mischief on Halloween night. Some pranks or practical jokes have a tendency to cross the line into crime. Remember vandalism is not a victimless crime. If you wish to report an incident, contact the Law Enforcement Desk at 377-5130 or dial 911 for emergencies.

The 354th Security Forces Squadron hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season. For more information or questions pertaining to Operation Pumpkin Patrol or Operation Glow, contact Security Forces Training at 377-5461 or Security Forces Investigations at 377-2983.
