Air Force Inns Project Published March 17, 2009 By Andy Flores 354th Force Support Squadron EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- The Goldrush Inn received Central Lodging Fund funding to update 10 distinguish visitors' suites. The project is in progress providing a whole room concept to each unit. Each unit will receive new flooring, paint, window treatments, furnishings, electronics, and appliances. The design scheme for the suites consists of transitional furnishings matched with warm neutral colors. The design is also then splashed with décor items to bring the great Alaskan frontier inside the suites. The new design will bring a warmer and more modern feel to the DV suites. The Eielson House and Business suites project has been in progress for two weeks with an estimated completion date of March 20. Lodging projects are funded by the CLF with either a décor upgrade or a whole room concept project each six and twelve years. By updating projects, facilities to stay updated with other Air Force Inns across the Air Force as well as civilian medium range hotels such as Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inns, and Days Inns. The CLF receives its funding through lodging room fees, a small percentage of all room fees across Air Force Inn go into the CLF monthly. Managers submit projects through the capital improvement program using five year budgets as a guide. The Goldrush Inn ready to show it off to distinguished guests visiting Eielson.
