Icemen compete in hockey tournament

EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska --  The Eielson Icemen Hockey team will compete in the Alaskan Armed Forces Hockey Tournament Feb. 15 to 18 at the Fort Wainwright gymnasium, located near the post exchange.

Admission is free, but attendees must be military I.D. card holders. Concessions will be provided, however attendees are welcome to bring their own drinks and snacks. Seating area is heated.

Eielson's varsity Icemen squad will compete against the Fort Wainwright Grizzlies and the Elmendorf Gimlets.

Eielson's junior varsity squad, the Icemen (2), will compete against Fort Wainwright's Flying Dragons and FWA (Fire Department), Anchorage's 176th Wing 176 Spitfires, Canada's Mirror Pond Moose and the 168th Air Refueling Wing's Skunks.
The schedule of events is as follows: 

Feb. 15
12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Icemen vs. Grizzlies
2 to 3 p.m. Moose vs. Icemen (2)
3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Spitfires vs. FWA
4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dragons vs. Skunks
6:45 to 7:45 p.m. FWA vs. Moose
8 to 9 p.m. Spitfires vs. Skunks
9:15 to 10:15 p.m. Gimlets vs. Grizzlies

Feb. 16
4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Icemen vs. Gimlets
5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Dragons vs. Icemen (2)
7 to 8 p.m. FWA vs. Skunks
8:15 to 9:15 p.m. Spitfires vs. Moose

Feb. 17
8 to 9 a.m. Dragons vs. Moose
9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Icemen (2) vs. Spitfires
10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Grizzlies vs. Gimlets
11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Skunks vs. Moose
4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dragons vs. Spitfires
5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Icemen (2) vs. Skunks
7 to 8 p.m. Grizzlies vs. Icemen
8:15 to 9:15 p.m. Tier III Consolidation (3rd vs. 4th)

Feb. 18
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tier III Championship
11 a.m. to noon Tier II Championship
