Next PACAF commander confirmed

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii --  On Nov. 16, the Senate confirmed Lt. Gen. Carrol "Howie" Chandler's promotion to general and appointment as the next commander of Pacific Air Forces with change of command at Hickam scheduled for Nov. 30.

Upon hearing the news of Gen. Chandler's confirmation, PACAF commander, Gen. Paul V. Hester reiterated his previously announced retirement plans.

Gen. Hester is scheduled to retire on Nov. 30, at 2:45 p.m. and relinquish command of PACAF to General Chandler at 4 p.m. the same day at Hickam Air Force Base.
