Chapel to hold multi-faith rally, parade Published Sept. 4, 2007 By Chaplain (Capt.) Ivan Torres 354th Fighter Wing Chaplain EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- In 1995 the Eielson chapel held a multi-faith, chapel rally and parade, the project was a great success for the Eielson community with hundreds of participants. This year, the chapel will put on another multi-faith chapel rally parade starting 10:30 a.m. Sept. 8 in the Aurora Club parking lot, and to continue through the base housing area. The purpose of a rally and parade is to foster friendship and solidarity within the members of our Eielson Community. All are invited to parade through the base housing areas with chapel folks, security forces and firefighters. Children are encouraged to join the parade riding their bicycles with starting point, where we will share food, games, jumping castle, and face painting. There will also be tables set up with information about the different ministries and service opportunities the chapel offers for the Eielson Community. The parade route is as follows (with approximate times): 10:45 a.m. in French Creek area; 11 a.m. North Street and Kodiak Street area; 11:20 a.m. Broadway Street area; 11:45 a.m. Moose Creek area.
