Class teaches parents effective discipline for children Published Aug. 22, 2007 By Compiled from staff reports 354th Fighter Wing Public Affairs EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Family Advocacy offers 1-2-3 Magic: Effective Discipline for Children ages 2-10. The program instructor, Ms. Jackie Dunn, 354th Medical Operation Squadron outreach manager, provides instruction on how to discipline without arguing or yelling; handling testing and manipulation; what to do about bedtime, messy rooms and chores and how to strengthen your relationship with your child. The program is 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sept. 5, 12, 19, 26 at the 354th Medical Group clinic. In the future, family advocacy also offers Girls and Boys Town Common Sense Parenting Class which is recommended for parents with children age seven and older. The skill-oriented class teaches logical, easy-to-use methods to increase positive behavior and decrease negative behavior. To sign up for either class, call family advocacy at 377-4042.
