The Goldrush Inn is proud to announce the start of a Central Lodging Fund project in bldg. 2272 Visiting Airmen Quarters.

Our VAQ will receive a partial décor upgrades which include: wall paper, mirrors, bed boxes, mattress sets, electronics, lamps, linoleum for bathrooms, new tiles for entrances, and artwork. The completion of the project will enhance the appearance of the rooms and common areas for visiting customers.

Lodging upgrades the rooms on six- and 12-year cycles. Décor upgrades are scheduled every six years and included, but not limited to, replacement of carpet, mattresses, window treatments, bedspreads, lamps, electronics, artwork, and common area furnishings. On our 12-year cycle we call our upgrade the whole room concept. We replace all furnishing in the room to include items listed from the six year cycle.

The Air Force collects an assessment charge out of every room rented. Those funds go into the CLF fund that accumulates to pay for lodgings projects such as these.

Lodging has a couple of ways of disposing excess furnishings. Lodging may conduct a nonappropriated fund sale or transfer furnishings to other NAF facilities like outdoor recreation.

Tune back in November when lodging will begin a decor upgrade project in the main building (bldg.2270).
