Could your used ink cartridges help your community? If you donate them to the torch program, run through the Boys and Girls Club at the youth center, they could.

Through Recycle for Life, a national program sponsored by Staples Office Supply, the kids earn $3 per printer cartridge donated.

Through the torch program, youths help the community by making crafts and donating them to charitable organizations.

"We've had a knit-a-thon and other kinds of things we can donate to the community to help raise money where it's needed." Stephanie Cox, youth center said.

The money is used for youth activities, or to buy more fund raising supplies. Stephanie spearheaded the program here on Eielson in May.

"We haven't had enough cartridges to fill up a box yet, but we're hopeful," she said.
