Fort WW ER closes for move, MDG assists Eielson Published June 11, 2007 By Compiled from staff reports 354th Fighter Wing Public Affairs EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Bassett Army Community Hospital on Fort Wainwright will relocate all emergency services from the old to the new facility June 16 and 17. During this timeframe, the 354th Medical Group will operate as a Non-Emergent Acute Care clinic between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eielson beneficiaries are urged to utilize the 354th MDG extended hours for any non-life threatening acute care needs. The 354th MDG does not have emergent care capabilities, so if you experience a true emergency (life, limb, or eyesight) please utilize the nearest emergency room or the BACH ER in the old facility, which will be minimally staffed for true emergencies. There will be a change in traffic pattern in the early morning hours of June 17 for the BACH ER. This is the time frame that ER services are projected to become fully operational in the new facility and completely closed in the old one. The BACH Outpatient Pharmacy will also be closed throughout the weekend. However, the 354th MDG pharmacy or any of the local civilian pharmacies will be available to fill prescriptions. It is our desire that these extended hours and services minimize the relocation impact for both Fort Wainwright staff and our Eielson beneficiaries. For more information, contact the 354th MDG TRICARE office at 377-5155.
