Pacific Air Forces has named an Eielson Airman as a top mentor and leader in all of the pacific command.

Known for her superb leadership and mentoring abilities, Master Sgt. Holly Roschel, 354th Fighter Wing career assistance advisor, received the General Billy J. Boles Mentorship Award.

"How she won this award is simple; selflessness and dedication. She puts others and the mission before her own needs and wants," said Ed Rogers, 354th Force Support Squadron chief of force development flight. "She truly cares about the members who make our mission a success and I was extremely happy to see that others also realized how deserving she was of the honor."

Roschel stays humble about winning her award, saying her job is all about the Airmen and not herself.

"I was surprised that I was chosen as the PACAF winner. I come to work every day with a smile on my face and give 110% in everything I do and I do it because Airmen depend on me," said Roschel. "Winning this award tells me that I am doing an outstanding job and others feel the same way."

As the wing's career assistance advisor, Roschel is the epicenter where all Airmen and NCO's gravitate for consultation and direction.

"The most rewarding part of my job is being able to get out and talk to our base Airmen about their careers and challenges that they are facing or may face in their Air Force career," said Roschel. "I would rather be out and about in our base units talking with Airmen than stuck behind my desk any day."

In the past year, Roschel led nine First Term Airman Center seminars for 187 brand new Airmen across the wing, interacting with the Airman first-hand and introducing them to the operational Air Force.

"Sergeant Roschel will go out of her way to help someone both personally and professionally. In particular, her impact on our first term Airmen is immeasurable," said Rogers. "She leads every FTAC class which sets the stage for the new Airmen's success."

To allow for maximum communication, Roschel recently built a Facebook page to get important information out to the base populous in an efficient manner and allowing her reach to go global for deployed Icemen needing career assistance.

"I look forward in the coming year to being able to mentor and guide our base Airmen," said Roschel. "With the Air Force going through great changes, Airmen can stay in touch with me on Facebook through my Career Advisor page."
