News Release: Deceased Airman identified as a conventional maintenance technician

A 354th Fighter Wing Airman was found dead off base at approximately 9:55 a.m. Nov. 2.

The deceased, Airman 1st Class Derick W. Dominguez, was assigned to the 354th Maintenance Squadron as a conventional maintenance technician. He joined the U.S. Air Force on May 21, 2018, and arrived to Eielson, his first duty assignment, in September 2018. He was 21 years old. 

“Derick Dominguez’s passing is a loss that radiates throughout our Eielson family,” said Col. David J. Berkland, the 354th Fighter Wing commander. “Derick was an invaluable member of the 354th MXS and his loss is felt by each of us deeply. His loved ones are in our thoughts and we will be grieving alongside them.”
