Sled Hill opening
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska-- The five sled winners, Breanna Turner, Samuel Merrill, Rino Mathews, Alexis Thompson and Robert Ragan, await the ribbon cutting of the new sled hill during a ceremony Nov. 20 behind the school. Around 300 students came to participate, receiving a speech from Col. Brian Maas, 354th Fighter Wing deputy commander, and enjoying juice and cookies. The hill was relocated behind the school on what is legally property of the Fairbanks North Star Borough, who gave Eielson permission to put the hill there.
