Eielson tests operational readiness
U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Stacy Leighton, 354th Maintenance Group chief of quality assurance, builds a fire to simulate an aircraft crash site in the Yukon Training Area during a 354th Fighter Wing operational readiness exercise, April 11, 2013, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Leighton helped organize and execute the crash site as a member of the exercise evaluation team in order to test the capabilities of Eielson Air Force Base first responders. Search and rescue personnel identified the rising smoke and successfully dispatched emergency response teams to the scene. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Peter Reft/Released)
