Airmen bring the heat
Airman Kevin Gibson counts 20mm ammunition August 13, 2010, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. Units at Eielson on temporary duty bring their allocation with them and can expend over 20,000 rounds during a typical Red Flag-Alaska exercise. Each round is counted, inspected and loaded into the Universal Ammunitions Loading Assembly (UALS) by hand before it is towed to the flightline to be loaded into the jet. Airman Gibson is a Conventional Maintenance Crew Member assigned to the 354th Munitions Flight. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Willard E. Grande II)
