Sled Dogs
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska--Yukon, a Siberian husky that is a member of a 27-dog sledding racing team stares curiously into the lens of a camera while keeping himself warm before he is called upon for practice. Yukon and his team race to raise awareness and funds for disabled children. Maj. Blake Matray, 168th Air Refueling Wing KC-135 pilot, operates the Sled Dog Fund, Inc., which is a non-profit organization that support disabled children and their families and finance clinical research on developmental disabilities, hospital programs, and educational programs.
