F-22 at Eielson
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska-- An F-22 Raptor from Edwards AFB, Calif., comes to a stop on the runway Nov. 5. The Raptor underwent cold-weather testing on its breaking system, with imphasis on its ability to maneuver, stop and go on slippery surfaces. The aircraft was tested by the 411th Flight Test Squadron during a three-week deployment on incrementally low-level runway condition reading surfaces, with temperatures ranging between 37 to -13 degrees, with an objective to have the report finished by Elmendorf's first winter.
