Rising Sun at Red Flag
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Technical Sgt. Tetsuo Totan, missile operator, Japanese Air Self Defense Force, launches smokey sams at enemy aircraft on the Pacific Alaskan Range Complex on July 24 during Red Flag-Alaska 07-3. With 67,000 square miles of rugged terrain, Japanese Forces are able to train tracking low flying aircrafts against a mountain back drop; this type of training is unavailable to them at their home station.
