On-base Vandalism

EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska--Eielson Outdoor Recreation would like to enforce the unacceptance of vandalism of base property. On May 19 the Outdoor Recreation staff repaired three picnic tables that were ripped apart and uprighted outhouses that were tipped over. Other vandalism has also been observed, such as four out of seven tables were destroyed at an on-base picnic sight; parts were burned in a fire pit, cut up with a chain saw and some parts just disapeared. The Natural Resources office is in charge of maintaining sites, but find it challenging due to shortage of staff. To report vandalism please call the law enforcement desk at 377-5130.
