Red Flag-Alaska orientation flights
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska--French air force crew chiefs perform pre-flight checks Mirage 2000 jets before heading into Alaskan airspace on an orientation flight April 6. One of the many benefits to Red Flag-Alaska is the Pacific Alaska Range Complex's 67,000 square miles of airspace, one conventional bombing range and two tactical bombing ranges -- containing more than 400 different types of targets and more than 30 threat simulators both manned, and unmanned.
