Exercise Northern Edge 06

EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Lieutenant Michael McGrew, 18th Fighter Squadron, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, dons an exposure suit here during exercise Northern Edge. The two part suits, also known as poopie suits, help ensure a pilot's survival if he ejects and lands in cold water. Northern Edge 2006 is a joint training exercise hosted by Alaskan Command and is one of a series of U.S. Pacific Command exercises that prepare joint forces to respond to crises in the Asian Pacific region.
