JAS 39 Gripen

EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- A JAS 39 Gripen from the Swedish Air Force's Tango Red unit home based at Malmen Air Base, Sweden sits on the flightlilne here on 18 July during exercise Cooperative Cope Thunder 2006. The exercise is a Joint/Combined Air training exercise with the main purpose of providing 8-10 sorties per pilot, that are as real as combat within the constraints of the training environment.
