Memorial service for fallen Airman

BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- During the memorial service here for Master Sgt. Brad A. Clemmons Aug. 24, Chaplain Lt. Col. Stan Giles, 732d Expeditionary Mission Support Group chaplain remembered the sergeant as a leader and "a true hero who put service before self and died in the line of duty." Beside a memorial made up of explosive ordnance tools of the trade, Chaplain Giles led the service for Sergeant Clemmons who died Aug. 21 when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device near Taji, Iraq. As team leader of a weapons intelligence flight, he was deployed from Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska and had come to Iraq to collect information for ways to defeat IEDs.
