F-16 uses emergency break
An F-16 Fighting Falcon, 18th Aggressor Squadron, sits on the runway after engaging an arresting cable at a speed of 124 knots March 25, 2009, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. The cable is similar to the ones used on Naval Aircraft carriers and must be certified once a year to ensure proper functioning in the event of an emergency.
