Gregory Burnett, chief engineer with Air Force Research Labs at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, explains to Senior Airman Nicholas Halladay the capabilities of a MR-1 computer that can send global positioning satellite coordinates to an aircraft May 5, 2008, at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska during Exercise Northern Edge 08. Tactical Air Control Party Airmen are helping test new experimental equipment in the field. After several tests, they are providing feedback on how the equipment worked, and if any improvements could be made before the equipment will be used in combat situations years from now. Northern Edge is a joint training exercise hosted by Alaskan Command and is one of a series of U.S. Pacific Command exercises that prepare joint forces to respond to crises in the Asian Pacific region. Airman Halladay is a TACP assigned to Detachment 1, 3rd Air Support Operation Squadron from Fort Richardson, Alaska. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Airman 1st Class Jonathan Snyder)
