WASHINGTON D.C.--Tony Sharpe, the 5-year-old son of Courtenay and Tech. Sgt. Robert Sharpe, also pictured, is presented the 2007 Citizen in Action award from Sen. Ted Stevens (Alaska) at the E9-1-1 Gala at Union Station in Washinton, D.C. March 4, 2008. The boy saved his mother?s life last year when she had a gall bladder attack, without hesitation he summoned paramedics to his family?s apartment in North Pole by calling 911. Tony is one of eight people to be honored by the institute and the first Alaskan. He is also being honored by the American Red Cross of Alaska in Anchorage next month. (Photo by Martin Simon)
