Building an ice bridge

Airmen with the 354th Civil Engineer Squadron take a break Nov. 24, 2008, in Fairbanks, Alaska. The crew is constructing an ice bridge to provide the 354th CES access to perform annual maintence on Eielson's training and bombing ranges. The process of building the ice bridge takes six to 10 weeks in a sub-arctic enviroment and will later melt back into the river in the summer months.
